Our Gouda rivals any made in the Netherlands. It has the same mild taste, creamy texture and small, bubbly eyes. An excellent dessert cheese, it is also great for cooking and melts beautifully.
Smith's Country Cheese
Smith’s Country Cheese has been a family-owned and operated, working dairy farm and creamery for over thirty years. They have 200 Holstein cows that live a happy life on 43 rural acres in Winchendon, MA. They combine old fashioned family traditions and hard work to produce award winning farmstead gouda, cheddar and Havarti cheeses. They use traditional recipes and fresh, raw milk from the farm to make delicious, artisanal cheeses.
At Smith’s Country Cheese, they’ve made a commitment to reduce their carbon footprint. They have a grid-tied photovoltaic solar system to offset over 70% of hot water and 30% of electrical usage costs by using the energy of the sun. They make our own compost from cow manure, famously known as “Otter River Black Gold” to manage farm waste in a green way
